The Only Rooftop Zipline in America — 90 Minutes Away
Zipline Near Boston — Connecticut's Only Rooftop Zipline, 90 Minutes Away
Looking for a genuine outdoor adventure within easy reach of Boston? HighFlyer Zipline at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut is just 90 minutes down I-95 — and it's unlike anything else in New England. HighFlyer is the longest zipline in Connecticut and the only rooftop zipline in America: you launch from the top of a 33-story hotel tower, 350 feet above the ground, and fly nearly a mile at up to 60 mph over the Connecticut landscape. For Boston residents searching for an adrenaline experience that's actually worth the drive, HighFlyer is it.
Getting Here from Boston
The drive from Boston to Foxwoods is straightforward and typically takes around 90 minutes with normal traffic.
From downtown Boston, take I-95 South into Connecticut. Take Exit 79A onto Route 2 West toward Foxwoods Resort Casino. Follow Route 2 West for approximately 6 miles — Foxwoods and Fox Tower are clearly signposted. Total distance is approximately 105 miles.
Foxwoods Resort Casino is located at 39 Norwich Westerly Road, Mashantucket, CT 06338. Parking is free.
Tip: On Saturdays and Sundays, leave Boston by around 10:30am — the 90-minute drive puts you at Foxwoods right at the noon opening. On Fridays (open during peak season and shoulder season), leave by 11:30am to arrive for the 1:00 pm open. Either way you'll have the full afternoon ahead of you before the 6:00 pm close.
Connecticut's Longest, Fastest Zipline — Launched From a Rooftop
Most ziplines run through a forest canopy. HighFlyer is in a completely different category. This is Connecticut's longest zipline at nearly 4,000 feet, Connecticut's fastest zipline at speeds reaching 60 mph, and the only zipline in America that launches from the rooftop of a hotel tower.
Here's what the experience looks like: you take an elevator to the top of Fox Tower, step out onto the rooftop launch platform 350 feet above the ground, and fly. Four side-by-side ziplines mean you can race a friend or family member on the way down. The full experience runs about an hour from check-in to landing at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum — then a shuttle brings you back to the tower.

Make a Full Day of It
The 90-minute drive from Boston is much easier to justify when you're staying for the full day. Foxwoods Resort gives you more than enough to fill it.
Monza Thrill Pack: HighFlyer's combo experience (from $77) pairs your Connecticut zipline flight with indoor go-kart racing at Monza at Foxwoods. Two adrenaline experiences, one trip. If you've driven from Boston for the thrill, doubling up is the obvious move.
Foxwoods dining and entertainment: Over 30 restaurants, a spa, a casino floor, and regular live entertainment. No need to leave the property.
Great Wolf Lodge: Located a short walk from Foxwoods (opened April 2025), this large indoor water park is a popular overnight option for families making the trip from Boston with kids.
Mystic, CT: For the drive back, Mystic is 20 minutes from Foxwoods. Mystic Seaport Museum is one of the best maritime museums in New England, and the waterfront has excellent seafood. A natural add-on before heading back to Boston.
Providence, RI: If routing back through Providence (about an hour from Foxwoods), the downtown restaurant scene is worth a stop.
The Best Zipline in New England — Here's Why
New England has several good Connecticut zipline options, but HighFlyer stands apart for one reason no other attraction can claim: it's the only rooftop zipline in the United States. Not just New England — anywhere. You're not launching from a hill or a ski slope or a treetop platform. You're launching from the roof of a 33-story hotel at a major resort casino, 350 feet in the air, with sweeping views stretching to Long Island Sound.
For Boston residents weighing adventure parks in New Hampshire or Vermont, HighFlyer wins the longest and fastest categories in Connecticut and adds something no mountain zipline can match: an urban launch point that makes the whole experience more surreal and more photogenic.
