The Only Rooftop Zipline in America — In Your Backyard
Zipline Near Hartford CT — Connecticut's Only Rooftop Zipline Is 45 Minutes Away
If you're looking for Connecticut's best outdoor adventure and you're based in Hartford, you're in luck — it's practically in your backyard. HighFlyer Zipline at Foxwoods Resort Casino is less than 45 minutes from downtown Hartford via Route 2 East. No long drive, no overnight stay required. Just a quick shot down Route 2 and you're standing on the rooftop launch platform of a 33-story hotel tower, about to fly Connecticut's longest zipline at speeds up to 60 mph. HighFlyer is the only rooftop zipline in America — and for Hartford residents, it's one of the most accessible adrenaline experiences in all of New England.
Getting Here from Hartford
The drive from Hartford to Foxwoods is one of the easiest routes in the state — no highway congestion, no tolls, and a straightforward road the whole way.
From downtown Hartford, take Route 2 East directly toward Foxwoods Resort Casino. Follow Route 2 East for approximately 35 miles — Foxwoods is clearly signposted along the route. Total drive time is typically 40–45 minutes.
Foxwoods Resort Casino is located at 39 Norwich Westerly Road, Mashantucket, CT 06338. Parking is free.
Hartford advantage: Because the drive is under an hour, you can check the weather on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday morning and head out the same day if conditions look good. HighFlyer operates weather permitting — and living close enough to be spontaneous is a genuine perk. From mid-June through the end of August we're open seven days a week, so in summer that spontaneous trip can happen any day of the week.
Connecticut's Longest Zipline — And the Only One Off a Rooftop
There are several zipline options in Connecticut, but HighFlyer is in a different category entirely. This is Connecticut's longest zipline at nearly 4,000 feet and Connecticut's fastest zipline at speeds approaching 60 mph. More than that, it's the only zipline in America that launches from the rooftop of a hotel tower — there's nothing in New England, or anywhere else in the country, quite like standing on that platform 350 feet above the ground before you fly.
The experience: take an elevator to the top of Fox Tower, step out onto the rooftop launch platform, and go. Four side-by-side lines let you race a friend, partner, or family member from launch to landing. The full experience is about an hour from check-in to landing at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum, where a shuttle returns you to the tower.

Unique Things to Do in Connecticut — This Is One of Them
Hartford residents have easy access to a wide range of Connecticut activities, but very few are as genuinely one-of-a-kind as HighFlyer. The "only rooftop zipline in America" isn't marketing language. There's no comparable experience in Connecticut, New England, or anywhere on the East Coast. Whether you're looking for something extraordinary for a birthday, searching for unique things to do in Connecticut with friends, or want to cross something off the bucket list, this is the outdoor adventure in the state that people are still talking about a year later.
Make a Full Day of It
Hartford is close enough that HighFlyer works as a true half-day trip: out after breakfast, home for lunch. But if you want to make the most of the drive, Foxwoods Resort has plenty of outdoor activities and entertainment to fill the rest of the day.
Monza Thrill Pack: Pair your Connecticut zipline flight with indoor go-kart racing at Monza at Foxwoods (Monza Thrill Pack from $77). Two adrenaline experiences, one trip from Hartford. If you're going all-in on the day, this combo is the obvious move.
Foxwoods dining and entertainment: Over 30 restaurants, a spa, a casino floor, and a regular entertainment calendar. Easy to turn a half-day into a full one without leaving the property.
Outdoor activities near Foxwoods: The Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center is right at the zipline landing zone and is one of the most significant Native American museums in the country. Worth an hour if you're staying into the afternoon.
Mystic, CT: 20 minutes from Foxwoods, Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium are Connecticut's most visited coastal attractions. A natural add-on if you're making a full day of it.
